The Shorty Interview
with Fabienne Fredrickson
What's your best tweet?
It's usually something I share about my 3 yummy children - usually photos. The one with my 1yr old holding a doll and cell phone in the car..
What are six things you could never do without?
1. Husband 2. Three yummy children 3. Connection with others 4. A fab party (and wine!) 5. My amazing clients and team 6. Personal growth.
How do you use Twitter in your professional life?
All the time. I love sharing photos of everything for everyday personal life. Photos of my kids and I, the food I'm eating, wine and more...
What's your favorite Twitter app?
Twitter for iPhone and Tweetdeck on my Mac.
Twitter or Facebook?
I love them both but Facebook allows for so much more interaction and connection. Twitter sometimes moves too fast for one-on-one connection.
What was the funniest trend you've seen?
There have been some hysterical middle of the night laugh sessions I've had by myself reading what @TheBloggess has put out there...
What feature should Twitter add?
I love it the way it is. I'm a downer for change with technology. Once I get used to it - I like it to stay the way it is... :-)
Who do you wish had a Twitter feed but doesn't?
My kids. I'd love to see what their thoughts would be in words in 140 characters or less (but only my husband and I could see...)
What are some words or phrases you refuse to shorten for brevity?
We're all here to "share our brownies" and get our message out in a there in a BIG way. It's our divine duty to do so...
Is there someone you want to follow you who doesn't already? If so, who?
Not really. I'm open to finding yummy new connections and see who appears. I always love meeting new people in any scenario...
Have you ever unfollowed someone? Who and why?
Spammers and peeps with no profile image. If you're on Twitter to connect with people - people want to "see" who you are...
Why should we vote for you?
I believe I best represent moms out in the world today. Mother of 3 kids, business owner - doing my thing and allowing others to do the same.
Terms you wish would start trending on Twitter right now?
What's the most interesting connection you've made through Twitter?
Of all the connections - the ones with my clients and students mean the most. The peeps from all over the world who follow me - I love that.
Hashtag you created that you wish everyone used?
Honestly, I've not used hashtags except for business (#clientattraction) since I like to have the conversation energetically create itself.
How do you make your tweets unique?
I live in the moment and look for real-time inspiration for what I'm thinking and feeling right then and there. What I feel - I share...
What inspires you to tweet?
My ability to inspire others with what I have to share. Knowing that 140 characters and a thought can impact thousands in a second...
Ever get called out for tweeting too much?
Yes - but it's all in moderation. If I truly believe in what I'm sharing can be of help and make a difference - I have no regrets in sharing.
140 characters of advice for a new user?
Just be yourself. Be who you are online in the same way meeting someone face-to-face. That will naturally attract the right people to you.
How long can you go without a tweet?
That's hard. Sometimes a day - but I love to check in often to see who is out there and what the conversation is about. I can't resist...
What question are we not asking here that we should?
Who else would I recommend for #mom category for the Shorty Awards?
How do you imagine Twitter changing?
Including more real-time interaction with video. I use video all the time for my business and personal life and including this will be HUGE...
Who do you admire most for his or her use of Twitter?
I love what @DebbieFord shares for personal growth. Of course @Oprah for her inspiration of what is possible... and hubby @DerekFred.
Who is the funniest person on Twitter that you follow?
Hands down - @TheBloggess
What is one of the biggest misconceptions of Twitter?
That it's a waste of time and doesn't do anything for business. I've made amazing connections and met people I wouldn't have anywhere else.
Why should people follow you?
I share everything from authentic marketing advice to photos with my kids and personal tidbits that I feel can inspire and open doors...
Can you name some one-of-a-kind Twitter accounts that you follow?
Can't resist giving props to my loving and adoring husband @derekfred. He posts about everything from marketing to family to skiing - love it
How do you decide what to tweet?
As a mompreneur running a 7-figure business - I focus on relevant, fun and engaging content on marketing, personal growth and family life.
Why'd you start tweeting?
I love to connect and help my peeps on Twitter - educate, inspire and motivate them to play a bigger game in their business (and their life.)
Has Twitter changed your life? If yes, how?
YES! My biggest value in life is connection. It has allowed me to connect virtually with thousands of people I would've never had the chance.
What do you wish people would do more of on Twitter?
Share personal stories and connections. It's too much "business" out there and not enough heart-to-heart connection.
How will the world change in the next year?
More heartfelt connection and authentic relationships. The planet is shifting to a more "soft" way of doing things and women are leading it..
What are some big Twitter faux pas?
Not replying to someone who has replied to you about what you've shared. It's like standing in front of someone and not talking to them...
What will the world be like 10 years from now?
Women entrepreneurs will be a playing a bigger game in their business focused on getting their message out in the world in a BIG way.
